Tashkent hosted the 5th International Forum of MGIMO Alumni. The event was attended by more than 450 members of government, parliament, politicians, diplomats, heads of large companies from 32 countries, as well as MGIMO representatives. They share one thing in common –studying years in MGIMO – one of the most top higher educational institutions.
Congratulatory messages of the Presidents of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation were read out.
The Minister of Culture of Russia - Vladimir Medinsky, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia - Damdin Tsogtbaatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia - Miroslav Lajčák, the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia - Hang Chuon Naron, Former Director-General of UNESCO - Irina Bokova, member of the Board of Directors of the Eurasian Bank and the Board of Trustees of MGIMO University, one of the founders of the Eurasian Resources Group - Fattokh Shodiyev delivered speeches at the sessions of the forum on politics, security, economy and culture.
Doniyor Islamov, Managing Director of RB ASIA, commented - “I am glad that this year my Alma Mater’s Alumni gathered in my home city – Tashkent. There are more than 400 MGIMO Alumni from Uzbekistan and what is very important this number will significantly increase soon, as the first international branch of MGIMO will be opened this year in Tashkent”.
